During this podcast episode, we speak to Emma Griffin, a modern-day witch who practices witchcraft to manifest the life of her dreams. Emma has worked with thousands of people from all over the world, helping them connect to their authentic self, step into their power, overcome negative programming and to access their own magic within – through her most popular offering – the Guidance Medicine Reading® .
Her philosophy teaches you to connect back to your soul to live and learn from your heart space fully in the present, a place of continual growth instead of fear. Emma’s book, Find Your Soul Path, is out now, and she has recently celebrated signing as an author with Hay House.
bringing witchy WISDOM to modern day life
Emma shares her childhood experience of growing up with a mum who practiced witchcraft, and how a devastating revelation from a tarot reader in her early twenties led her to begin her own journey to becoming a witch. She speaks about how her mum urged her to keep her witch identity a secret, but in the end – and through nursing her mum through illness - Emma began to share her wisdom with the world.
She describes how she has kept her own gifts from childhood, including communicating with the dead, and shares how she has tried to encourage her own children to be open to the magic of life – and the beautiful experience of initiating her own daughter into witchcraft.
We discuss the witch wound and how our ancestors’ DNA lives within us, so we feel the pain of witch persecution. Emma says we need to call in a real sisterhood so we can share and support one another. We are craving authenticity, openness and chances to connect, and Emma explains how she created this through sharing her life experiences online and via Zoom, particularly through lockdown when people were looking both inward and outwardly to Nature for healing.
Emma describes some of the prejudice she faced when declaring herself as a witch and how people are realising that there are many different types of witchcraft. She sees it as a religion – and stresses the importance of knowing yourself, healing your traumas and living fully in the present moment. She also works with the season, nature, ritual and manifesting with magic and the elements as well as the dead and other dimensions.
Referring back to lockdown we discuss how, for many people, this challenging period was a kind of spiritual awakening. We speak about how some spiritual awakenings can be very difficult, and how it is a continual process, rather than just waking up one day and everything is clear! It is so important that we do the inner work and take responsibility for ourselves.
Emma finds many of her clients are looking to find their purpose and lead a more magical life, but they are hindered by their own witch wound of thinking they aren’t good enough, or they are too worried about being seen and therefore persecuted. We agree that you can often feel you are in a ‘spiritual closet’, and Emma speaks on the importance of learning not to hold back. We need to learn not to take other people’s resistance personally and to be our authentic selves.
Emma shares how to respect the spirit world and souls who have passed on, and she describes a very physical experience she had with Spirit, as well as some beautiful experiences when initiating other witches. She talks about her new book, Find Your Soul Path, and how it can help busy women do the inner work they need to truly flourish in the world.
